This postcard is designed from the 1930s Urdu translation of Faust by Sayyed Abid Hussain (1896–1978), a scholar and translator who worked alongside Maulvi Abdul Haq at Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu in Aurangabad, Deccan. In 1931, he brought Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s iconic play into Urdu, bridging German literature with South Asian readership. This image is taken from that historic translation.
